Behavior Modification

Behavioral challenges can be frustrating and at times overwhelming. Whether your dog is struggling with separation anxiety, reactivity, or excessive barking, these problems rarely resolve on their own. With the right support and a structured plan, things can get better.

The Behavior Assessment

Every program begins with a 90-minute behavior assessment at your home or in a relevant public setting. I use this time to observe your dog, understand their history and triggers, and carry out any necessary tests. You will then receive a personalized training plan tailored to your dog, your lifestyle, and your goals.

What We Cover:

The Behavior Modification program is built around a structured assessment and a personalised plan. Common behavioral challenges I work with include:

Separation Anxiety

Building your dog’s confidence and tolerance for alone time, gradually and at a pace that sets them up for success.

Fear-Related Issues

Helping your dog build confidence and develop a more positive association with the things that currently worry them.

Excessive Barking

Identifying the underlying reason for the barking and addressing it at the root, rather than simply suppressing the behavior.

Resource Guarding

Addressing the underlying anxiety around valued resources, helping your dog feel more secure and less defensive.

Reactivity

Understanding the root cause of your dog’s reactivity and helping them respond more calmly around other dogs, people, or environmental triggers.

How the Program Works :

Following the behavior assessment and the delivery of your personalised training plan, sessions are structured in packages of 6, 8, or 10, depending on the nature and severity of the issue and your goals. Training takes place both in your home and in public settings where relevant, ensuring that progress made in sessions translates into real-world results.

Behavior modification takes time and consistency. The number of sessions recommended will always reflect an honest assessment of what is realistic for your dog, rather than a one-size-fits-all package.

Who This Program Is For:

This program is for owners dealing with a behavioral challenge that is affecting their daily life and their relationship with their dog. If you're not sure whether it's the right fit, don't hesitate to reach out and we can talk it through.
